Pinnacle Performances For The Jersey Blues At The Border Battle Invitational

Logan Twp., NJ - The Brookdale Jersey Blues cross country team continues to top their performances each week with the past outing at the Border Battle Invitational, hosted by Rowan University, being no different.
The meet consisted of some of the top Division III schools in the nation from all over the east coast and the Midwest. The Border Battle Invitational was a final tune-up for the Jersey Blues before their regional championship later this month. Brookdale was in the open division of both the men's and women's races. The men's team placed 16th out of 26 teams and was the top junior college team at the meet.
In the women's 6K race, freshman, Kristen Daly, ran a personal best time of 33:02. In the men's 8K race, freshman Theodore Purdon was the Blues top man placing 27th in a time of 28:34. He was followed by another two freshman, Joshua Seba, who crossed the line in 31:14, and Michael Puzo in 31:28; both ran a course personal best time. Sophomore, William Broadhurst, finished with a 31:55 time, as freshman, Connor Scott, marked 32:37. Both Broadhurst and Scott ran their personal best course times as well. The additional freshman who posted their course personal bests are, Joshua Beer, 37:12, Brendan Golding, 40:40, Axel Linde 41:19, and Darin Perpignan with 53:02.
The next race for Brookdale is the Region 19 Championship at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, DE, on October 30th. The men's team will be in the mix for the team championship as they are looking to qualify for the national meet held at Georgia Military College on November 13th.
