Sewell, NJ - The 1-2 Jersey Blues women's soccer team labored with the 3-2 RCSJ - Gloucester Roadrunners in a conference match up, losing 3-2. Brookdale had 11 shots on goal as veteran goalie sophomore, Emma Bennett, made 13 saves.
The first three goals were supplied by the Roadrunners, and not until 19:41 of the first half did Brookdale get on the board. Freshman forward, Adyson Hornberger, linked the ball to fellow freshman forward, Samantha Soto, to make it 3-1.
Not until 68:32 in the second half did the Blues strike again. Hornbergers foot came into play again as she placed an assist onto freshman forward, Rori McDonough, to make things interesting for the Roadrunners with a 3-2 score. Brookdale had plenty of time and opportunities to tie up the match and move forward, but it wasn't enough, and the Roadrunners prevailed.
Brookdale (1-3) will host the Union College Owls on Thursday, Seprtember 22nd, at 3:30pm.
