Manalapan, NJ - Freshman forward Jada Trotta notched two goals as the Jersey Blues women's soccer team overpowered the DI Vikings of Mercer County Community College. Trotta's first goal came within seconds of the first whistle and her second goal off a corner from freshman midfielder Allison Fitch in the second half.
Fitch tallied two assists on the day while freshman defender Emily Clayton and freshman midfielder Alexa Hansen each ripped one goal. Sophomore forward Jenna Karabin dished one assist as freshmen goalkeepers Rebeckah Trumble and Noelle Gibbons combined for a total of 12 saves. It was a tough game with the score going back and forth but the Blues fought past that and remained calm. Possession is key for the team's overall tactic and proved to be the deciding factor in the match-up.
With the win, the team improves to 1-0-1 and will return to the field on Tuesday, September 10th to take on the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College at 3:30pm.
