Lincroft, NJ- On the evening of May 24th, 2016, the 2015 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Champions were honored in a ring ceremony presentation, as the Brookdale Jersey Blues reminisced about their historic feat. The only Brookdale program to win back-to-back-to-back National titles, the 2015 squad became the seventh National title on the Brookdale campus (softball – 2002, 2005, 2010; men's basketball – 2013; women's soccer – 2013, 2014, 2015).
Held at the Sterling Ballroom at the Double Tree in Tinton Falls, many campus dignitaries were on-site to join in on the festivities. Vice President Dr. David Stout and director of athletics Shawn Noël gave the group of friends and family warm words of welcome, while Freeholder John Curley congratulated the team and presented each student-athlete with a certificate of appreciation from the County of Monmouth.
After head coach, and three-time National Coach of the Year, Katie Miller enthralled the crowd with her spirited season recap, she, along with Noël, presented each player with a championship ring.
To earn its third-consecutive National title, the Jersey Blues scored with minutes remaining in the second half to defeat Oxford College of Emory University (GA) 1-0 in the championship game, hosted on the campus of Ocean County College.
