Jersey Blues Advance To Region XIX Finals After Win Over Sussex

Lincroft, NJ – Top-seeded Brookdale Community College beat fifth-seeded Sussex County Community College, 64-60, in an NJCAA Region XIX semifinal game at Collins Arena on Saturday.
Rachel Rouse led the Jersey Blues with 24 points. Dayjah Anderson (17) and Anna Catanzaro (13) also scored in double-figures for Brookdale.
Alyssa Aragona led Sussex with 29 points. Casey Lagenbach added 17 and Phoebe Livingston had 11 for the Skylanders.
Sussex led 16-11 after the first quarter, but Brookdale took a 31-29 lead into the half after Anderson drained a jumper at the buzzer to take the lead. Rouse hit a 3-pointer near half court at the end of the third quarter, extending Brookdale's lead to 45-38. The game remained close for most of the second half.
Brookdale will play third-seeded Passaic for the Region XIX championship on Sunday, Mar. 3 at Collins Arena at noon.
