Pressure Defense Leads Brookdale Women's Basketball To Win Over Passaic
Paterson, NJ- It was in your face defense that propelled Brookdale women's basketball to a 69-58 victory over Passaic on the road Saturday afternoon. The Jersey Blues victory was their second straight Region 19 and conference win in as many games.
Paterson, NJ- Sophomore Che'Kasha Andrews (Long Branch HS/Long Branch, NJ) led all Brookdale scorers with 28 points. Freshman Brianna Bowen (Neptune HS, Neptune, NJ) added 16 points and seven boards, while fellow teammate freshman Camarie Brown (Long Branch HS, Long Branch, NJ) dropped in 16 points of her own and dished out seven assists. Head Coach Rich Brunson commented on the win by saying, " tenacious defense and full court pressure was the key to Brookdale's victory."
With the win Brookdale moves to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in Region XIX and Conference play. The Jersey Blues return to action on Tuesday, November 21st when they host the Blue Colts of Middlesex Country College tip-off at 5pm. Admission to all home games are free.
