Brookdale Softball Sweeps Middlesex In Conference Showdown
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College softball team continued their strong Region 19 play with a doubleheader sweep of the Middlesex College Colts, winning 8-5 and 10-2 at Bo Scannapieco Field. With the region tournament fast approaching, the win was huge for the Jersey Blues as they sit in the 2nd spot of the DIII standings.

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College softball team continued their strong Region 19 play with a doubleheader sweep of the Middlesex College Colts, winning 8-5 and 10-2 at Bo Scannapieco Field. With the region tournament fast approaching, the win was huge for the Jersey Blues as they sit in the 2nd spot of the DIII standings.
Sophomore shortstop, Jillian Fay, went 2-for-3 with a triple for three RBI's to power the Jersey Blues' offense. Freshman center fielder, Jaylen Campbell, contributed a double in her 2-for-4 at bats for two RBI's, and sophomore first baseman, Audra Lowe, added an RBI single for the game-one win.
Game-two presented stronger bats from the Blues as freshman pitcher, Jules Hart, was the RBI leader with three, and freshman, Carmela Esposito, hit a perfect 3-for-3 with a double for two RBI's. Critical RBI hits were scattered by sophomore catcher, Jessica Fay, fellow classmate first baseman, Audra Lowe, nd freshman third baseman, Jadeyn Pavlik. On the defensive end, Jules Hart was dominant in the circle after throwing for 13 innings while striking out 10 for the entirety of both games.
Brookdale, 29-9, will be on the road for their last regular season game against the Bergen Community College Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 29th, at 3:30pm.
