Jersey Blues Softball Rally's In 7th Over Suffolk To Advance In DIII World Series
DeWitt, NY - Coming off of a tough loss to the No. 6 Joliet Junior College Wolves in the first game of the DIII World Series, the Brookdale Jersey Blues pushed up their sleeves and went to work, defeating the No. 7 Suffolk County Community College Sharks, 7-6.
Dewitt, NY - Coming off of a tough loss to the No. 6 Joliet Junior College Wolves in the first game of the DIII World Series, the Brookdale Jersey Blues pushed up their sleeves and went to work to defeat the No. 7 Suffolk County Community College Sharks, 7-6.
Brookdale fell behind early, trailing 3-0 until the fifth inning as sophomore right fielder, Ana Marziano, punched an RBI single to left field for freshman catcher, Sydney Rawlings to score. Rawlings had a big bat herself, hitting 3-for-4 with an RBI double. Sophomore DP/second baseman, Kelli Tuttle, fulfilled her job batting 2-for-3 for an RBI, as did sophomore shortstop, Nicolette Pavlik, freshman DP/second baseman, Abby Kisseberth, and freshman first baseman, Brittany Campbell, all with contributing RBI's.
The final play of the game in the 7th inning came off the bat of sophomore left fielder, Madison Parrish, as she hit into a fielder's choice to score the game-winning run for the Jersey Blues to advance in the NJCAA DIII World Series.
No. 3 Brookdale will have their second game of the day against No. 5 Herkimer College in the next Elimination Round on May 25th at 5:00pm in DeWitt, NY.
