Losses To Mercer Doesn't Overshadow Softball's Player Appreciation Day
Lincroft, NJ - Despite the cold, rain, and two losses, 7-2, 10-6, to the DII Mercer County Community College Vikings, the Jersey Blues softball team had plenty to be proud of and smile about. The Blues celebrated their last regular season home game together for Player Appreciation Day.

Lincroft, NJ - Despite the cold, rain, and two losses, 7-2, 10-6, to the DII Mercer County Community College Vikings, the Jersey Blues softball team had plenty to be proud of and smile about. The Blues celebrated their last regular season home game together for Player Appreciation Day.
Just prior to the celebration, the Blues were leading game one, 2-0, until the third inning when the Vikings unleashed, scoring all seven runs that Brookdale couldn't answer to. Sophomore right fielder, Ana Marziano, brought home the only two runs for Brookdale. Scattered hits came from sophomore third baseman, Zoey Hagan, with a double, freshman second baseman, Mallory Shevlin, and freshman first baseman, Brittany Campbell.
During the break in between games, Head Coach, Bo Scannapieco, took the reigns and spoke about each player's contributions as they received flowers and enjoyed a post game celebration in the Robert J. Collins Arena.
Following their celebration, it was back to business for Brookdale. The Jersey Blues lost a long, tough,10-6 fight in game two with efforts and RBI's from sophomore left fielder, Madison Parrish, who smacked an RBI double, sophomore third baseman, Nicolette Pavlik, who hit 2-for-3, catcher, Zoey Hagan, flex player, Sydney Rawlings, and pitcher Mallory Shevlin.
The Blues (29-9) play their final game of the regular season on the road against the Salem Community College Mighty Oaks on Saturday, May 6th, beginning at 12:00pm.
