Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale softball earned their 6th straight win after defeating the Bergen Community College Bulldogs, 12-0, 14-1.
Freshman pitcher, Mallory Shevlin (11-4), led the Blues in the circle and in RBI's in the game-one 12-0 win. Shevlin allowed just one hit and struck out 10 in five innings, then went 2-for-3 with a double for four RBI's. Sophomore catcher, Zoey Hagan, and freshman third baseman, Brittany Campbell, each had two-run doubles. Sophomore center fielder, Alyssa Sigler, and classmate shortstop, Gianna Praet, each went 2-for-3 with an RBI, as freshman first baseman, Sydney Rawlings, marked an RBI single.
Alyssa Sigler turned it up a notch in the 14-1 win, racking up two homers and a double for four RBI's in her 4-for-4 at bats. Sophomore left fielder, Madison Parrish, matched Sigler's four RBI's as she went 2-for-2 with a double. Zoey Hagan and Sydney Rawlings came through again, posting 3-for-4 at bats and each with RBI doubles. Adding to the score was sophomore first baseman, Kelli Tuttle, and sophomore right fielder, Ana Marziano, who built on RBI singles. Sophomore winning pitcher, Gianna Praet (13-3) blew through 12 Bulldog strikeouts with zero runs earned in five innings.
The Jersey Blues (25-7) are on the road next to play the Camden County College Cougars on Thursday, April 27th, at 3:30pm.
