Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women's softball team engulfed two big wins against the #1 Region 19 ranked Northampton Community College Spartans, 6-0, 1-0, to replace their position at the helm.
Sophomore stud pitcher, Gianna Praet, grabbed her 11th win, scattering just four hits and eight strikeouts in the 6-0 defeat. The third inning was pinnacle for the Blues as sophomore third baseman, Zoey Hagan, went 2-for-3 with an 3 RBI double and sophomore shortstop, Nicolette Pavlik, batted 2-for-3 with an RBI single to enhance her batting average to .446. Freshman Mallory Shevlin added a two run double in the fifth inning.
Zoey Hagan continued her tear in the 1-0 tight win, batting 3-for-3 and scoring the winning run in the 4th on a wild pitch. Freshman winning pitcher, Mallory Shevlin, notched her 9th win, allowing just four hits with nine strikeouts.
Brookdale (21-7) will pay a visit to the DII Lackawanna College Falcons for a second doubleheader this season on Sunday, April 23rd, beginning at 12:00pm.
