Brookdale Softball Splits With The DI Monroe College Mustangs
Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues split their softball double header, 1-0, 9-5, with the challenging DI Monroe College Mustangs. Sophomore winning pitcher, Gianna Praet (9-0), had an epic shutout performance with five strikeouts in the Blues, 1-0, first game win.

Lincroft, NJ - The Jersey Blues split their softball double header, 1-0, 9-5, with the challenging DI Monroe College Mustangs. Sophomore winning pitcher, Gianna Praet (9-0), had an epic shutout performance with five strikeouts in the Blues, 1-0, first game win.
It was freshman second baseman, Mallory Shevlin, who kept the Jersey Blues on the edge of their bench as she smoked a bottom of the 7th, two out, walk-off homer that won the game for Brookdale.
In the 9-5 second game loss, shortstop Gianna Praet, connected for a two run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Sophomore third baseman, Nicolette Pavlik, went 2-or-4 with a triple and an RBI single, and sophomore right fielder, Ana Marziano, added 2-for-3 at bats with an RBI. Additionally, pitcher, Mallory Shevlin, collected an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.
Next up for Brookdale (17-5) is the Middlesex College Blue Colts on Tuesday, April 18th, at the Lincroft campus for a 3:30pm start time.
