Lincroft, NJ - The #1 Region 19 ranked Jersey Blues softball team split with the #2 ranked RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners, 1-0, 9-4, as Brookdale now slips to the #3 spot.
The 1-0 Brookdale win was assisted by freshman pitcher, Mallory Shevlin, throwing a five-hitter with five strikeouts for her 7th win. Scoring the winning run in the third inning was sophomore right fielder, Ana Marziano. She singled, stole second, went to third base on an error, then scored on an RBI single by sophomore third baseman, Nicolette Pavlik, who hit 2-for-3 in the game.
In the game two, 9-4 loss, Mallory Shevlin, went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in the 5th inning to give Brookdale a temporary 4-3 lead. Additionally, freshman catcher, Sydney Rawlings, provided two RBI singles in her 2-for-4 at bats as sophomore left fielder, Madison Parrish completed 2-for-4 at the plate for two singles.
Brookdale remains on their home field to host the Sussex County Community College Skylanders on Saturday, April 15th, at 12:00pm.
