Brookdale Splits On Day One Of NJCAA National Softball Tournament
Rochester, MN- The Jersey Blues softball team fell to the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County in five innings, 14-5 and edged the Vikings of Itasca Community College in five innings, 11-5 in day one of competition at the NJCAA National Softball Tournament.

In game one, sophomore right-fielder Megan Mego went 3-3 at the plate while freshman left-fielder Katrina Hand connected twice at bat.
In game two, sophomore center-fielder Taylor Mennie posted three hits including a record breaking two-run homer, her 15th of the season. Mennie also knocked in four RBI's. Sophomore catcher Olivia Carbone tallied four hits and three scored runs as sophomore Danelle Lewis pitched for the win.
The team returns to action in the tournament on Friday, May 19th against St. Cloud Technical and Community College at 11:00am.
