Softballs' Bats Knock Three Homers; Brookdale Sweeps Ocean Vikings In Two
Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team swept the Vikings of Ocean County College, 8-0 in five innings and 7-2. The Jersey Blues had a strong fifth inning in game one, where they swung their bats and scored seven runs to end the game. Sophomore center-fielder Taylor Mennie crushed a three-run home-run and knocked in four RBI's.

Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team swept the Vikings of Ocean County College, 8-0 in five innings and 7-2. The Jersey Blues had a strong fifth inning in game one, where they swung their bats and scored seven runs to end the game. Sophomore center-fielder Taylor Mennie crushed a three-run home-run and knocked in four RBI's. With the home-run Mennie tied the home-run record at 14.
Sophomore pitcher Danelle Lewis tossed the five inning gem and launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth. Lewis also recorded a no-hitter.
In game two, sophomore shortstop Nikki Alfano went 2-2 at the plate and recorded one single, one double and one sac-fly. Alfano also drove in three runs. Lewis posted another home-run as freshman pitcher Rachel Hrevnak tallied her eleventh win of the season.
With the wins, the team improves their overall record to 32-8-1. The team will return to action on the road at Rowan College at Gloucester County on Saturday, April 29th to finish the game that was suspended on March 30th. Brookdale will then travel to Camden County College for two games.
