Back To Back Home Runs Propel Jersey Blues Past Suffolk Sharks In Two
Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues softball team rallied past the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College, 12-9 and 7-6.

Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues softball team rallied past the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College, 12-9 and 7-6.
After trailing by nine runs, Brookdale rallied for five runs in the bottom of the third inning and in the sixth inning, sophomore third baseman Danelle Lewis crushed a three-run homer followed by an inside the park solo home-run by sophomore catcher Olivia Carbone to highlight the Blues offense and take the lead.
Sophomore pitcher Lauren Coppinger earned the win in relief.
In game two, freshman catcher Bridget Coulahan and Lewis sparked Brookdale's offense in the first inning, smacking back to back home-runs. Sophomore outfielder Megan Mego and Coppinger notched an RBI double each to ice the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Lewis posted the win from the mound while Coppinger added the save.
The team improves their overall record to 18-5-1 and will next face the Fighting Owls at Harford Community College on Tuesday, April 11th for a doubleheader beginning at 5:00pm.
