Homan's Suicide Squeeze Sends Softball Past Monroe In Extra Innings
Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team defeated Monroe Community College, 2-1, in ten innings. Sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw the complete game with 3 strikeouts and 1 earned run. In the bottom of the tenth, sophomore second baseman Keara Homan suicide squeezed for sophomore second baseman Bobbie Boehler who scored the winning run.

Freshman outfielder Courtney Semkewyc singled and doubled while Sara Vocisano doubled and singled from the plate.
On the defensive end, the Blues came up big in the field. In the top of the ninth with two outs, sophomore center fielder Cassidy Brzozowski laid out for a horizontal sno-cone catch in the left center gap that kept Monroe from scoring. Boehler and sophomore third baseman Erin Lockwood made outstanding defensive plays throughout the ten inning game as well.
The team will face Rock Valley on Friday, May 16th at 4pm.
