Men's Cross Country Finishes 2nd In Tie Breaker; Purdon Sets Course Record At Jersey Blues Invitational
Lincroft, NJ - In an epic finish to the First Annual Jersey Blues Invitational cross country meet, Brookdale finished in 2nd place as a result of a 6th man tie breaker. The Blues and the RCSJ - Gloucester Roadrunners each had a total of 32 points from their top five runners, but the Roadrunners 6th man came in 12th as Brookdale's finished 15th to seal 1st place.

The first men's individual runner to cross the finish line was Brookdale's own, sophomore, Theodore Purdon. Purdon set a new course record by finishing in 16:57. Freshman Casey Brown finished in 6th place at 18:13, sophomore Josh Seba was 10th in 18:46, and sophomore Joshua Beer was just behind Seba in 11th place with a finish of 18:56. In 13th place with a 19:23 time, was freshman Jayden Morris, then freshman Matt Newman in 19th, 21:09, freshman Joshua Cabral, 25:27, and freshman Aeshawn Carney in 32nd with a 29:01 time.
The men's cross country team heads to Ewing, NJ, next to participate in the TCNJ Invitational on Friday, September 23rd, beginning at 5:30pm.
