Paramus, NJ - The Jersey Blues men's soccer team downed the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College, 3-0 in conference action. Sophomore midfielder Nicholas Bilotti cushioned a through ball into the path of freshman forward Kirk Jones, who feathered a shot over the keeper in the 17th minute of play.
The team struck again in the 44th as freshman forward Robert DeMarco tallied his fourth of the season with an assist from freshman midfielder Robert Saunders, giving the Blues a 2-0 lead going into the half.
Freshman forward Kevin Foster maintained momentum early in the second half. After striping the ball from a Bulldog midfielder, Foster dribbled his way to the endline, then laced a low cross, finding Saunders, who one-timed a low liner inside the back post. Bergen picked up the pace of the game but Brookdale's defense played cohesive and helped sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Lionette record his second shutout of the season.
With the win, the team improves to 2-2 and will next take on the Skylanders at Sussex County Community College on Thursday, September 12th at 3:30pm.
