Lincroft, NJ - Prior to and throughout the holiday season, the Brookdale men's soccer program collected coats, hats and gloves to donate to those who could use a little extra warmth as the weather continued to get colder.
With the help of all of the team members, the athletic department as well as other local businesses in the area, the Jersey Blues were able to collect over 150+ clothing articles including 100+ coats. Once collected and sorted, these coats, hats and gloves were then distributed to a few different organizations in need. Based on the specific demands of adult jackets, teenage jackets and toddler apparel, the team delivered these articles to three different organizations; the Family Based Services Association of New Jersey, the Jersey Shore Worship Group and the Neptune School District.
"As a goal to help out families in the local area stay warm, we well exceeded our expectations as a team and definitely felt the impact we had when handing over the donated items to those who truly were very appreciative", said head coach Brennen Fitzsimmons.
