Madison, NJ- The Brookdale men's soccer team tied the Rangers of Drew University's JV squad in the season opener 2-2. The Blues were down, 2-0 when sophomore midfielder Eric Doucette scored off a penalty kick in the seventy-sixth minute of the game. Sophomore forward Thomas Cafiero tied the game with a goal late in the game. Freshman forward Aquilas Adams assisted Cafiero's goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Luis Aguirre tallied 12 saves for the Jersey Blues.
The team will travel to Tompkins Cortland Community College over this Labor Day weekend to play in the East Coast Cup. The Blues will face Prince George Community College on Saturday, August 30 and Holyoke Community College on Sunday, August 31.
