Paterson, NJ - The Jersey Blues men came home with a heartbreaking overtime loss of 83-82 to the Panthers of Passaic County College.
Paterson, NJ - The Jersey Blues men came home with a heartbreaking overtime loss of 83-82 to the Panthers of Passaic County College.
The Blues came out flat and were down 14-3 early in the half. The momentum picked up as Brookdal took a 40-33 half time lead. The Panthers went on an 18-2 run to start the second half, then the Jersey Blues fought back as freshman guard Beyon Wilson pushed the Blues ahead by two with a put back at 6.3 seconds left to the game. A foul by Brookdale on the inbounds put Passaic on the foul line hiting both and sending the game into overtime.
After three failed floor shot attempts and another foul by Brookdale with 6/10 of a second on the clock, Passaic hit one of two foul shots to win the game. The lead scorer for Brookdale was Freshman guard Adam Kukaj with 22. Tied with 13 points a piece for the Blues were Freshman guard Jelani Carter, and Freshman guard Beyon Wilson.
Brookdale's current record is 1-3 and will be looking for a win on Thursday night @ 5:00pm vs the Owls of Union County College in Lincroft, NJ.
