Jersey Blues Snag Two More Wins In Delaware Phantom Series

Media, PA - The Brookdale Jersey Blues baseball team snagged two more wins for the sweep against the Delaware County Community College Phantoms, 12-0, 16-3.

In the first game, 12-0 shutout, freshman left-handed pitcher, Gary John Perone (1-0), got his first Jersey Blues win on the mound after facing 24 batters in 8.0 innings with 16 strikeouts and allowed just two hits. Leading in RBI's at the plate was freshman center fielder, Declan Sheehan, who ripped a homer and a double for three RBI's. Freshman shortstop, Justin Lopez, hit 4-for-5 including two doubles for two RBI's, and hitting a double a piece to finish with two RBI's a piece was sophomore DH, Malik Little Jr and sophomore first baseman, Richard Kernan. Homers on the day came from sophomore second baseman, Anthony Martino, and freshman right fielder, Casey Gardiner. 

Freshman second baseman, Christopher Clark, was the three RBI leader in game-two, batting 2-for-3. Lopez pounded a triple and summed up two more RBI's, and sophomore right fielder, Jacob Ramirez, went 2-for-4 for two RBI's as well. Freshman RHP, Cole Armond (1-0) also grabbed his first Brookdale win on the mound in 4.0 innings with five strikeouts.

Brookdale (19-4) will play the Northampton Community College Spartans, in Media, PA, on Thursday, April 3rd, at 3:30pm.
