Brookdale Loses Nailbiter To Rival Roadrunners; LoVarco Posts 7 RBI's
Sewell, NJ - The Brookdale baseball team lost a tough nailbiter,14-13, to conference rival RCSJ-Gloucester in a hit-for-hit fest with a twist in the 8th inning. The Roadrunners totaled 16 hits to the Jersey Blues 14.

Sewell, NJ - The Brookdale baseball team lost a tough nailbiter,14-13, to conference rival RCSJ-Gloucester in a hit-for-hit fest with a twist in the 8th inning. The Roadrunners totaled 16 hits to the Jersey Blues 14.
The Roadrunners had a huge third inning with seven runs and the Jersey Blues knew they had a lot of work to do. Brookdale was scoring runs in every inning with homers coming from sophomore third baseman, Rocko Brzezniak and freshman center fielder, Devon Smith, as sophomore second baseman, Nick Colbert batted 2-for-4 with two RBI's in the fight. The the top of the 8th got interesting when sophomore right fielder, Nick LoVarco, blasted a grand slam, his second homer of the day totalling seven RBI's for Brookdale as they pulled ahead, 13-11. Brookdale just couldn't hold on as the Roadrunners pulled ahead in the bottom of the 8th for the win.
Brookdale will head back home for games two and three of the Roadrunner series on Saturday, April 27th, beginning at 12:00pm.
