Brookdale Overpowers The Northampton Spartans, 15-2, To Advance To Region Finals
Sewell, NJ - Brookdale continued to fight the good fight for a Region championship on day three against the Northampton Community College Spartans. The Blues were in a continous rally as they deflated the Spartans hopes by defeating them 15-2.
Sewell, NJ - Brookdale continued to fight the good fight for a Region championship in game three against the Northampton Community College Spartans. The Blues were in a continuous rally as they deflated the Spartans hopes by defeating them 15-2.
Sophomore left fielder, Marcus Johnson, smoked a three-run homer for one of his two hits, totaling four RBI's on the day, and sophomore shortstop, Joseph Lomangino, tacked on three more RBI's including a dinger to push the Blues forward. Freshman right fielder, Nick Lovarco, batted 4-for-6 with a double and a triple for two RBI's, as freshman first baseman, Ryan Cole, and sophomore DH, John Wade, crushed the aluminum for two RBI's a piece as well. Winning pitcher, Nick Timpanelli (6-3), gave up only one earned run and threw seven strikeouts in the 16 batters he faced.
The Blues will move forward and play the RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners once again for the Championship game on Sunday, May 21st, at 11:00am in Sewell, NJ.
