Extra Innings Propel Baseball To Victory Over Cumberland Dukes
Vineland, NJ - The Jersey Blues baseball team defeated Cumberland County College, 7-4 in a 12-inning match-up to advance to the championship game in the Region XIX tournament. Brookdale trailed behind in the fourth-inning, 4-0 and began to rally in the fifth-inning to get on the board.

Freshman left-handed pitcher Dylan Taliaferro earned his fifth win of the season on the mound, striking out nine batters and only allowing two hits. Freshman third basemen Matt Granato led the team in hits going 3-5 at the plate while sophomore infielder Ryan Ruziecki recorded two RBI's. Freshman outfielder Dominic Meleo also recorded an RBI as sophomore infielder Ben Porpora contributed one double and one RBI. Freshman outfielder Bradley Brush rounded out the offense with one double to continue the take over of the Dukes.
With the win, the team advances to the Region XIX championship round to take on the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County on Saturday, May 18th.
