Lincroft, NJ- Sophomore shortstop Cole Fluta has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi and play for the Islanders on a scholarship.
Lincroft, NJ- Sophomore shortstop Cole Fluta has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi and play for the Islanders on a scholarship.
In his two years at Brookdale, the Middletown native notched 306 at bats and totaled 108 hits. Fluta recorded 17 doubles, 57 RBI's, 23 stolen bases and 68 scored runs while turning 43 double plays. For the 2017 season, Fluta was named to the third All-Region team. In 2018, he earned a spot on the second All-Region team.
Cole's favorite moments as a Jersey Blue were defeating the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County and the Spartans of Northampton Community College in the final four of the 2018 Region XIX tournament and the first baseball practice of his freshman year. "I met some of my best friends on that day".
"I chose Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi because I have always wanted to play baseball at a high level. This is the perfect fit for me academically and athletically," he said.
