Bio

 

Brookdale Community College announced the hire of Trish Taylor as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation in November 2019. Prior to Taylor's current official role, she acted as the Assistant Director for two years while maintaining her initial position as the Administrative Assistant of Athletics and Recreation since 2010.

Taylor has over 15 years of experience in higher education working with college student-athletes, as well as 13 years of experience in Brookdale Community College's athletic department serving various roles. Taylor has twice been the recipient of the Peer Recognition Award given by the Professional Development Committee in 2014 and 2019, and continues to serve on the BCCAA Union Executive Board over the past seven years. In her new position, Taylor will be responsible for Game Day Management for Intercollegiate Athletic Events, Athletic Website Management, and other duties assigned by the Director.

Taylor came to Brookdale from Brielle Sports Clubs in Wall, NJ where she spent a short stint as the club manager. Prior to her time at Brielle Sports Club, she was a physical education teacher for eight years at Tower Hill School in Red Bank, NJ, and the St. Margaret-McTernan School in Waterbury, CT for grades Pre-K to 8. Trish also served as the Girl's Junior Varsity Basketball and Softball Coach for St. Margaret-McTernan in Waterbury, CT and previously for Brookfield High School, Brookfield, CT.

Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Connecticut State University in 1992 where she played on the number one nationally ranked women's basketball team as a two-year captain. Following WCSU, Trish received her Masters of Science Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT.

A native of West Orange, NJ, Trish was a 1987 graduate and a four-year member of both the basketball and softball teams. Trish was inducted into the West Orange High School Hall of Fame in 1999 for her accomplishments in basketball and was a 1,000 point scorer for the Mountaineers.

Trish currently resides in Wall, NJ, and has a 24-year old son, Tommy, a 22-year old son, Patrick, and a 19-year old daughter, Kelly.
